Wellington’s ‘Drag Kings’ present a gender bending comedy cabaret for anyone who is a man or woman, or thinking of becoming one.
With a South Island debut of their show 'Pisstakes' - a favourite at the 2006 International Comedy Festival – The Drag Kings take the piss out of everything from well-known NZ poets to a certain 1970's Swedish pop band.
'The Drag Kings' are a troupe of seven queer women who have been wowing audiences in NZ and Australia for the last six years. Their unique style of 'drag' performance includes gender bending, celebrity offending and general sending up anything they think needs ‘the piss' taken out of it.
Come and see the celebrities and nobodies that the Drag Kings will lovingly parody. Nothing is sacred as they send up everything from boy bands to the All Blacks and even Bob the Builder!
