Tune to any music channel on New Zealand television and you’ll discover current urban music set to a style of dance that has become synonymous with hip hop music, as well as used in many R&B circles also. Those styles will be highlighted twice at this year’s Tempoº New Zealand Dance Festival.
The Hot: Hip Hop Showcase at The Auckland Performing Arts Center on the 6th of October brings together both an amalgamation of dance, music and graphics that have become integral parts of the hip hop culture with a number of specialist groups covering different art forms that have been represented over the last twenty years.
