This is your chance to get out into the parks and recreational areas of Auckland, experience the adventure sport of orienteering, practise map reading, walk, jog or run at a pace you choose, and visit areas you may not have been to before.
This event on 24th October is the first of the summer series orienteering events - and as we are celebrating the start of the 20th annual Summer Series, this event is Free! Don't miss this great opportunity to give it a go! Season Tickets also available on the day.
We provide participants with:
* a high quality park orienteering map
* a selection of preset courses. The courses range from an easy under 2km course up to a reasonably challenging navigation course of 6km to 10km.
Orienteering is an outdoor adventure sport that exercises both the mind and the body. The aim is to navigate in sequence between control points marked on a unique orienteering map and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time.
It does not matter how young, old or fit you are, as you can run, walk or jog the course and progress at your own pace.
All are welcome to give an Orienteering Summer Series event a go.
