The filmmakers will be given the opportunity to speak to the audience about their film and their experience in making it. Entry details are on-line at www.magmafilm.org.nz

Guest speakers will add to the excitement of the evening sessions. Already confirmed are Editor Annie Collins (lord of the rings) and Documnetary film maker Valerie Reid, whose film Sanddancer won its first award at Magma 06' and has since gone on to get acclaim at prestigous international film festivals.

Two special workshops for attending filmmakers on storytelling (script writing) for short film and The Pitch-putting your proposal together for an executive producer. Check the website out for more details over the coming months.

We will host a special Te Arawa ki Rotorua programme, highlighting archival and contemporary short films on, by and about Rotorua iwi.

OBJECTIVES OF THE MAGMA SHORT FILM FESTIVAL
· To produce a short film festival that will showcase local, national and international across age genre of short films in true Rotorua Manaakitanga (hosting) fashion.
· To showcase local artists, musicians and performers, including acoustic guitar, samba drumming
· To showcase local cuisine, beverages, services and products.
· To support networking and learning opportunities for aspiring filmmakers and industry professionals and with the wider business and creative communities in Rotorua.
