Peregrinations

In her fourth solo exhibition Roberts brings a humorous insight to everyday sights, scenes and thoughts. Her whimsical outlook on life is instantly recognisable in her sculptural paintwork with explosions of colour. from her landforms to her "all sorts of forms" they wander from place to place dropping a message here, a hint there making "Peregrinations" a lighthearted, cheerful experience for the viewer.

Roberts expresses a great love for "Outsider Art" but it is difficult to place her artwork into any particular genre. She lived in Botswana before emigrating to New Zealand 12 years ago and says her works might still be in a juxtapositional stage between Africa and New Zealand, which does tend to make them slightly different. She has sold works to Australia, Dubai, South Africa and U.K. but says she feel most privileged when she thinks of her work hanging in New Zealand homes and offices.
