Hitting out with seven hours of extremely fine live music, world-class hospitality, class on grass and a picket fence, SUMMERSET at Wellington's BASIN RESERVE, is the ultimate day/nighter to pull stumps on daylight savings.

Local musical talent headlined by Wellington's own Fat Freddy's Drop, Shapeshifter, Ladi6 and Parks plus Downtown Brown and the Sunshine Sound System, will be joined by two international acts live and direct from the UK, Tom Middleton and Black Grass. Hosts for the event will be MC's KPz and P Digss tag teaming on the mic.

Ticket numbers are limited to 5000 and the entire Basin Reserve will be fully licensed for SummerSet, with the Heineken Greenspace, featuring table service from Heineken Helpers, the best views of stage, comfort and shade, providing the hospitality centerpiece at the event.

Transforming Wellington's cricket ground into a boutique festival event on the last Saturday of daylight savings in March is the brainchild of Sandwiches, awarded Night Club of the Year at the innugrual 2006 New Zealand Bar Awards.

The three owners and Managerial Directors, Bryce Mason, Jonnie Halstead and Wade Lipsham have developed the SummerSet concept in order to take the success of New Zealand's top night club and one of the countries most established entertainment brands and branch the model into a fresh concept for large scale outdoor music festivals into an iconic location.

With its central city location, Historic Place's Trust status and age, the Basin is regarded by many as the most famous cricket ground in New Zealand. It became Wellington's official cricket ground on 11 December 1866 having been constructed on a former lake known as the Basin Lake that was uplifted in a major earthquake in 1855.

Sandwiches team say the aim is to make SummerSet an annual Wellington event.
