Undivided - Benefit Concert for Cancer

The Story
Three months ago, after moving countries alone to start a new life and make a path for her family, Mila Gurney got a phone call no one wants to get.
The most important person in her life, her Mother, called from South Africa to tell her daughter she had been diagnosed with stage two Breast Cancer.
Mila's world fell apart for two days 5 minutes and seven seconds.

Mila was told about the medical costs and that her mum would have to give up her dream and 6 year plan of finally getting to go and see her sister in Australia mid 2007. A dream she had planned and saved every cent for.

And all to get better. it was in that moment that Mila realized that this is something that hundreds of people must go through. They fight to get better, but give up the dreams that would give them reason to live, and all just to pay for medication.

In that moment she decided to do something - and the only thing she could think to do. Make sure her Mum got to Australia.

The plan started with an idea to put on a concert with fellow singer songwriters to save just enough to get her Mum an airplane ticket to Oz.

But then came the big picture. Not just her Mum , but a benefit for as many as is possible.

A worldwide benefit concert event featuring talented singers /songwriters and rising star bands will take place starting on the 10th March...

The aim is two fold.
To Grant the wish of one person directly affected by Cancer in each city / country the event takes place, as well as making a financial donation to ‘Look Good Feel Better’ - A global non-government funded organisation that empowers women and men to get their confidence back after the effects of cancer treatment - and get better.

The concert grew into a gig featuring some of NZ hottest rising bands and artists, a global event in South Africa, the UK, the USA and New Zealand. So became Undivided.

A global benefit and awareness concert, featuring bands and artists worldwide, raising enough to get Mila's mum her dream, and give the proceeds to the Look Good Feel Better Organisation.
