With 14 trophy-winning wines, stunning cuisine by one of New Zealand's most celebrated chefs and the cream of New Zealand's wine talent, the Royal Easter Show Wine Awards Trophy Presentation Dinner is truly a feast for the senses.
The magic begins when you arrive at 6.30pm - you are presented with two of the night's award winning wines - a luscious Riesling and a magnificient Methode Champenoise.
At 7.30pm, take your seat to enjoy a magnificient degustation menu created by guest chef Peter Thornley. Each creation on the menu is designd to match the 14 winning wine styles and as each plate arrives, the winning wines will be announced.
During the evening, M.C. Leighton Smith, will also announce this year's inductees into the prestigious New Zealand Wine Hall of Fame.
Running for 54 years, the Royal Easter Show Wine Awards is New Zealand's oldest wine competition. Presided over by Master of Wine, Bob Campbell and renowned Australian wine writer, James Halliday, they seek to find the finest 14 New Zealand wines, which are readily available to the public.
