In 2007 the U.K.’s legendary V Festival debuts in Australia, with one day events being staged in Sydney on March 31 and on the Gold Coast on April 1.

En route to those dates, 5 of the major names in the V Festival line up are stopping off in Auckland to play 4 big nights at the St James.

First up are the original legendary punk rockers New York Dolls. Original band members David Johansen and Sylvain Sylvain reunite to bring New York Dolls to New Zealand for the first time!

“The New York Dolls served notice of their return by kicking off their tour last evening… and those present were treated to a raucous night of all-out rock that shook a packed house to the gills... The chance to see the Dolls perform again could be likened to a "holy grail" moment” signonsandiego.com / Union-Tribune

Forming in 1971, despite no great commercial success New York Dolls became one of the most influential bands of their generation, earning a cult following on both sides of the Atlantic. The band’s 1973 debut album and the follow up “Too Much Too Soon” are still widely regarded as two of the most popular cult records in rock & roll history. After a number of line up changes the NEW YORK DOLLS split in ‘77, with the remaining original members regrouping at the request of Morrissey for London’s 2004 Meltdown Festival. Their performance blew away the packed house of fans and critics. NEW YORK DOLLS surviving members later reunited again to record their latest CD/DVD “One Day It Will Please Us To Remember Even This” (Universal 2006). Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see one of the most infamous bands of our time - NEW YORK DOLLS.

“The New York Dolls left only one query hanging after its First Avenue performance Tuesday night: When's the next tour? … By the time the audience got to howl along to "Personality Crisis" in the encore an hour later, the new Dolls not only lived up to the legacy but added to it." Star Tribune, Minneapolis - St. Paul
