MORE FM Pro Beach Volleyball Tour 2007 - NZ Open

The MORE FM Pro Beach Volleyball Tour has been a feature of the New Zealand summer sporting calendar for over a decade, entertaining crowds around the country with the action and athleticism synonymous with beach volleyball.

The tour heads to five popular venues around the North Island during January 2007, and will again feature the best of NZ's beach volleyball talent, as well as top international teams in both men's and women's fields.

2007 is a key year for NZ's top men's team, Kirk Pitman and Jason Lochhead, with the Olympic Qualifying period starting in May. They have had a strong season in 2006, including a top ten placing in the Russian leg of the World Tour in July.

Silver Fern, Anna Scarlett is playing the full NZ tour this year. She is teaming up with Susan Blundell for the first time in a bid to become NZ's top team, and hopefully a strong team on the world stage in the future.

The appearance of Kristjan Kais & Rivo Vesik from Estonia, who are in the World's top ten teams.

A strong US presence confirmed for the tour with Tracey Lindquist & Ashley Ivy already confirmed in the woman's field, and Ed Ratledge & Dave Fisher in the men's.

The major event of the tour, with the ASB Tennis Centre being an ideal venue with its stands and terraced seating, and the opportunity for corporate hospitality. Now in its seventh year, the MORE FM NZ Open has a history of attracting strong international fields. The MORE FM NZ Open finals are being broadcast live on TV2.
