It will have been 3 years since Evanescence, led by the spell binding Amy Lee, had fans raising roofs in New Zealand with their outstanding live show of January 2004. Following their debut album release, Evanescence played to full arenas around the world during their 18 month tour, which included a sell out in Auckland's Town Hall.
Exploring dark, introspective themes of love, desperation and despair on their 2003 debut album Fallen, Evanescence struck a worldwide chord with the epic #1 single Bring Me To Life. The global hit and their top 5 My Immortal spurred sales of Fallen to reach nearly 14 million worldwide, and Platinum or Gold certifications in over 35 countries.
New Zealand fans have helped lead the way for Evanescence's world dominating success with 5 times platinum sales of their first album Fallen and platinum sales of their outstanding new album The Open Door.
Evanescence deliver a sonic symphony - a delicate balance between lush beauty and primal heaviness, producing an emotional, ethereal music of undeniable potency made all the more outstanding with the addition of Amy Lee's heavenly vocals.
With an exceptional performance of the beautiful My Immortal, Lee literally made the show her own. A combination of her blazing operatic vocals and the extraordinary crowd reaction made it a rather special moment. Beat
In early October Evanescence released their follow up album The Open Door, offering 'a nearly mystical marriage between rock, goth and classical'. Debuting at #2 in the album chart, the album features the first single Call Me When You're Sober and the recently lifted Lithium.
