Christmas At The Bowl

This is Taranaki’s celebration of Christmas in the beautiful setting of the world acclaimed TSB Bowl of Brooklands.

It will this year be featuring a host of Taranaki talent presenting an evening of memories and enjoyment for the whole family.

This year, Artistic Director, Peter Meikle and Musical Director, Bryce Gordon have joined forces with “D’Lights Of Christmas” commencing at 8.00pm. Santa Claus is stranded with no reindeer and he needs your help to ensure the Christmas presents can be delivered in time for the children. With grand-daughter, Brooke and her friend, Joseph you may be surprised who does turn up to help save day!

Peter Meikle has brought together the New Plymouth Brass Band, conducted by Bryce Gordon; City Sounds Choir, Highlands Intermediate, Sacred Heart Girls High School and Francis Douglas Memorial College all under the choral direction of Gabrielle Barr; the Marlaina Curtis’ Stage School; and special guest soloists Lisa Abbott, Bryony Williams, Christina Levi and Joseph Gardner with Harry Brown on organ. Add to these outstanding performers the opportunity to sing great Christmas favourites like Jingle Bells, O Come All Ye Faithful, Silent Night, Away In A Manger and Rudolf The Rednosed Reindeer and we guarantee you will enjoy.

Pre-show entertainment is from 6.45pm with the New Plymouth JAY Band, Hatrix and the Spotswood College Concert Band. Entry is by gold coin donation only and complimentary candles and holders will be distributed. This is a night to arrive early, bring the picnic hampers, the family and the rugs for a Christmas Spectacular.

At the conclusion of the show, approximately 9.40pm, sit back, look skyward and enjoy our Christmas At The Bowl Fireworks Extravaganza.
