A Festival of Film under the Stars
Hawke’s Bay’s annual out-door film festival opens it’s fourth season on December 27th at the Black Barn Amphitheatre in Havelock North.
The festival organisers have again prepared a cinematic smorgasbord to enthrall film enthusiasts under the stars. From the New Zealand Premiere of ‘Talk to me’, the powerful, real-life story of Ralph Waldo "Petey" Green, the outspoken ex-con who talked his way into becoming an iconic 1960's Washington DC radio personality to Jack McCoy’s surfing masterpiece ‘Blue Horizon’, the Yin & Yang story of world champion Andy Irons & 21st century soul surfer Dave “Rasta” Rastovich. There is plenty of variety to more than satisfy a broad range of film appetites.
Other movies shown are: Charade, The story of my life, Lovers of the arctic circle, Elvis: That’s the way it is, The upside of anger, Casino Royale and the year’s most gripping tale: The lives of others.
The amphitheatre in the foothills of Te Mata Peak was purpose built for performances and has quickly gained a reputation as one of New Zealand’s finest out-door venues. It has great acoustics, good sight lines, the best of technology installed and views to die for. Moviegoers can relax back on grassed terraces, sip a glass of wine, nibble on snacks from the in-house caterers or bring a picnic of their own to share with friends.
Nine movies will be shown over the period December 27-30, 2007 and January 02-06, 2008. For details please visit www.blackbarn.com
