Lyrica in Concert

New Zealand's finest opera band invites you to be part of their history. Lyrica combines the soul and grace of the classical world with the power and energy of today's pop music. With custom arrangements and superbly trained voices, Lyrica truly defines the opera/pop fusion genre. More than the sum of its parts it's a music sensation.

Based in the Waikato (with one member from Auckland) the group is made up of Justine Allen (soprano), Reece Pennington (tenor), Greg Ward (baritone) and Loretta Wilkinson (soprano). Although all four singers have had extensive professional careers nationally and internationally, it is the blending of the four voices, the sumptuous harmonies, and the fusion of classical and popular styles that excites them most. Lyrica creates a full lush sound that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. It’s emotive music that you can’t help but love.

Featuring in their forthcoming Hamilton concert will be time honored favorites such as 'My Way', 'Angels', 'Gira Con Me', and 'Nella Fantasia', as well as cheeky renditions of romantic Italian standards, a few musical theatre favourites and other beautifully arranged popular hits of today.
All in all, be prepared for an evening that may well make you at times both laugh and cry, but will ultimately have you toes-a-tappin’ and tunes-a-hummin’ long after the show is over.
