The adidas XTERRA New Zealand Championships are held annually at the stunning Blue Lake in Rotorua.
The event is part of the XTERRA Global Tour and is in fact the largest XTERRA event held anywhere in the world.
Current men's champion is Olympic Gold Medallist Hamish Carter, who is also the reigning XTERRA World Champion.
The XTERRA event consists of a 1KM Lake Swim, 32km Mountain Bike and 11km Trail Run. People are also able to enter in teams.
The largest of all the divisions though are the 11 and 21km walk and runs. These are set in amazing tracks with 90% of the courses off road.
