More than just a best-selling artist, respected guitarist, expressive singer, and accomplished songwriter, Bonnie Raitt is an institution in American music. The nine times Grammy Award winner, applauded for her soulful vocals as well as her guitar prowess, released her 18th album Souls Alike in 2005 marking yet another brave, exhilarating step in a legendary body of work.

She began playing the guitar at the age of 8 and attending Harvard University in the late 60’s explored blues and slide guitar along with other styles in local coffeehouse gigs. She left college to commit herself full-time to music, and shortly afterward found herself opening for surviving giants of the blues. From Mississippi Fred McDowell, Sippie Wallace, Son House, Muddy Waters, and John Lee Hooker she learned first hand lessons of life as well as invaluable techniques of performance.

Expect a great evening of rockin’ blues and rhythmic tunes.
