RUN Auckland - It's For You!

RUN Auckland is a new 5 Race Road Running Series at scenic and exciting locations, which promotes the city and a variety of running routes.

The distance for each run will be over 10 km and 5km with the last race in the series a Half Marathon and 10km. The series helps you work your way up to completing a half marathon.

The series will run from 29th April 15th July and are to be held approximately every 3 weeks at each of the locations below.

We have an aim of 500 plus runners per event for the first year growing to 600 per event in the second year and at least 800 runners per event for the third year and beyond.

Sandy Barwick MBE and the only New Zealander to currently hold any Athletics World Records has agreed to be Race Ambassador for the series inspiring people to get active using many of the great locations Auckland has to offer.

On offer will also be the RUN Auckland Corporate Cup, which will be presented to the top company at the completion of the series. Points will be awarded for the number of entries per company as well as points for overall placings in each race.

Event Dates and Locations:
Race 1 - 29th April Waiatarua Reserve, Grand Drive, Remuera
Race 2 - 13th May Eastern Beach, Pakuranga
Race 3 - 10th June Milford Reserve, Milford, North Shore City
Race 4 - 24th June Western Springs Park, Western Springs, Auckland City
Race 5 - 15th July Takapuna Athletics Club, Northcote, North Shore City

The Goals of the RUN Auckland Series are to:

Aid the general public in their pursuit of getting active by providing an achievable yet challenging run series.
Promote healthy and active lifestyles.
Provide an outlet for all Aucklander's to continue or develop their summer fitness achievements.
Promote the sport of running to the general public and allow for the general public to develop an opportunity to join running clubs.
Provide a series in which people can develop their fitness and work on their running goals.
Establish the North Shore City Half Marathon as New Zealands Premier half marathon within 5 years.
