Remarkably, for the first time ever, anywhere in the world, Ian Moss, the former lead guitarist from Cold Chisel, and Diesel (Johnny Diesel & The Injectors, and Jimmy Barnes Sideman/Lead guitarist) will tour together playing a 10 date tour of New Zealand in October.
Ian Moss & Diesel are both legendary singers, songwriters and lead guitarists who are extremely highly regarded by fans and peers alike.
Common ground they share are long time and long term artistic relationships with Jimmy Barnes over several decades. Ian Moss as the phenomenal Cold Chisel lead guitar player and second Cold Chisel singer (My Baby, Bow River, Saturday Night), and Diesel as Barnes’ sideman (Soul Deep), but until now, neither of them have toured together.
Both Diesel & Ian Moss have developed strong careers and identities in their own right having released many successful albums and chart topping singles over a 20 year period. Notably in the case of Ian Moss- “Telephone Booth” (#2 on the NZ single chart) and in the case of Diesel “Tip Of My Tongue” (#3 on the NZ single chart) and his album “Hepfidelity” (spent 30 weeks in the Top 40 chart and reached #1).
On the tour each artist will pay a 60 minute solo acoustic set and the tour will feature a rotating headline, meaning on one night Diesel will play before Ian Moss, and the next - the reverse will happen.
Both artists are constantly touring, writing and releasing new music. Their current releases being acoustic greatest hits albums for Liberation Music.
Ian Moss- “Six Strings” - (Liberation Music New Zealand Released 14 August) Diesel - “Singled Out” - (Liberation Music New Zealand Released 15 September)
Don’t miss this amazing event. It’s the first time they have toured together and it may never happen again!
