Australasia’s first and only international competitive documentary film festival. Each year the festival showcases the very best in documentary films from New Zealand and all around the world.

2006 will be the second DOCNZ Documentary Festival. It has expanded to Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.

DOCNZ will offer the following awards in each of the local and international categories:
-- Best Short Documentary
-- Best Medium Documentary
-- Best Feature Documentary.

DOCNZ will also give out the DOCNZ Best NZ Student/Emerging Documentary Film-maker Award. In recognition of the quality of television documentaries, DOCNZ 2006 will introduce the Best Made For Television Documentary Award.
