ACG Senior College presents The Who's Tommy (A Rock Opera)
The story of Tommy is one of triumph over adversity: Young Tommy suffers terrible trauma and abuse and retreats into a protective shell of "the deaf, dumb and blind kid". Yet his spirit rises from these ashes to display a gift that will not remain buried within his shell. The message is clearly one of nuturing the brilliance that can be found in our young and vulnerable, whatever the inhibitors may be.
A Charity Gala Premiere will open the production on Tuesday 30 May. $50 Gala tickets will receive a complimentary glass of wine and finger food at 7:00pm pre performance.
Profits from the Gala will be donated to Autism New Zealand - Senior College's designated charity. We hope through this relationship to help students and other involved with the school to become more aware of the nature of autism and the experience of those living with this challenge.
Music and Lyrics by Pete Townshend Book by Pete Townshend and Des McAnuff Additional Music and Lyrics by John Entwhistle and Keith Moon Originally produced on Broadway by Pace Theatrical Group & Dodger Productions with Kardana Productions Inc.
