Faster, fitter, cleaner, cheaper!
Cycling is healthy, environmentally friendly and a great way to travel!
Bike to Work Breakfast will be held on 01 March 2006 as part of the National Bike Wise Week and is organised by Auckland City.
The event attracts several hundred participants every year and aims to promote the value of cycling as an alternative means of transport.
Free breakfast
A nutritious breakfast will be provided for all cyclists and includes a selection of cereals, bagels, fresh fruit, dried fruit, tea, coffee, bottled water and an energy drink.
Prizes and giveaways
There will be stacks of spot prizes to win, including cycle products such as helmets, t-shirts and drink bottles.
Thanks to Velo, a brand new Giant cycle is up for grabs in the grand draw that will take place around 8.30am on the day.
Live music and entertainment
MoreFM will be on site to MC the event and the square will become alive during the morning with the smooth sounds of live Latin jazz.
Unicyclist stuntmen will show off their tricks and encourage cyclists to give it a go themselves.
Guest speakers and cycle information
Several guest speakers will be in Aotea Square as part of the programme, providing useful information including Auckland City's cycling initiatives.
Information on cycleways and off-road cycle routes will be available at the event.
Cyclists can get a free bike check at the event, courtesy of Adventure Cycles.
Encourage your workmates to get on their bike!
Remember that if you're commuting from the North Shore or Waiheke, Fullers allow bikes on their ferries for free!
If you want information and advice about cycle friendly employers and starting a cycle group, see SPARC website.
This is a free event organised by Auckland City and is proudly sponsored in 2006 by SUB60, MoreFM, URS and ARTA. BIANZ and members of the cycle industry including Giant, Avanti, Bell Helmets, PRV, Adventure Cycles and Cycles Etc are also kindly supporting the event by donating the prizes and giveaways.
Special thanks to our breakfast sponsors including Abe's Bagels, Healtheries, Tasti Products, Kraft, Barkers, and Mizone.
