The Southern Sinfonia presents the first concert in their Matinee Series: Vivaldi's Four Seasons on Sunday 16 July and now, due to an extremely high level of public interest, an additional concert on Saturday 15 July.

Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons' needs very little introduction to classical music-lovers, and Sydney Manowitz, Southern Sinfonia Concert-Master for more than ten years should be equally familiar to Dunedin audiences. Manowitz steps out from his post behind the number-one music stand to take on the role of soloist in one of today's most beloved classical works.

The Sinfonia begins its two-concert celebration of Mozart's 250th birthday with a performance of 'Symphony No.40, one of the composer's final three symphonies described as 'the summit of Mozart's creative work'.

Conductor: Kenneth Young
Soloist: Sydney Manowitz

Programme:
Vivaldi - Four Seasons
Honneger - Pastorale d'ete
Mozart - Symphony No.40
