Rippon open air festival is run by a non-profit group by the name of Lake Wanaka SouNZ Inc., with the SouNZ part reflecting the pride in the quality of Kiwi musicians and their music. Lake Wanaka SouNZ Incorporated was set up in 1997; Rippon 06 will be the sixth festival they have run.
Profits made from all festivals go directly back into future events and the Wanaka community.
Since the first festival in 1998, over $12000 has been put back into promoting music within the region.
