SPLORE 06

Splore 06 is a biennial outdoor festival devoted to art, culture, and community. Splore 06 presents contemporary live music, performance, visual arts, sculpture trails, film screenings and workshops. Splore 06 promotes the cream of New Zealand’s creative community and international practitioners. It is an event that seeks to break down barriers by creating a harmonic fusion of all genres in an environment celebrating our cultural heritage. Splore ignites a passion for the arts in unique contexts. Every year we entice our audience to this three-day event by providing art and culture in different park environments, previously Karioiatahi Beach and Waharau Regional Park. This year Splore 06 is held in the beautiful Auckland Regional Park Tapapakanga just sixty minutes south of Auckland.

Splore 06 is the sixth Splore Festival, and we have been building a loyal audience since 1998. Splore is committed to providing people with the opportunity to experience urban leisure pursuits alongside art, music and culture. The summer outdoor festival is for an audience of all ages, extending the Splore community.

Since Splore’s beginnings as a New Years Music Festival in 1998 and 1999, it has evolved into a fully integrated arts event, attracting a high caliber of New Zealand and international artists. The Splore ethos is to provide artists’ opportunities to collaborate; and to allow a high degree of participation from our audience. Splore has an impressive track record of promoting arts practitioners from a broad spectrum of disciplines.

Splore is a truly multi-layered arts festival, successfully integrating music, arts and performance. Splore is a platform for artists to network, exchange ideas and foster their creative spirit. Splore places artists in an environment where their work can cross-pollinate with new mediums and technologies. Splore’s development in scale and scope has succeeded in attracting larger and increasingly diverse audiences every year.

Ticket prices are $140 plus $2 booking fee available at Ticketmaster, Post Shops and Real Groovy.
