Maestro Marc Taddei draws the 2006 Masterworks Series to a close with two momentous mastepieces. Soprano Patirica Wright joins with the Symphony to perform Strauss' finest and final work, Four Last Songs, a work he didn't live to hear.
The epic and awe-inspiring Ninth Symphony is an exploration of Mahler's innermost tension, arising from a profound fear of death and a genuine yearning for the joys of life.
