Conductor: Tecwyn Evans
Programme:
Sibelius: Pelléas and Mélisande
Débussy: Danses Sacrée et Profane
Castelnuovo-Tedesco: Concertina for Harp and Orchestra
Mozart: Symphony No. 38, Prague
From the delicate French nuances of Débussy to the colourful flamenco sounds of Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Concertina, and the elegance and sophistication of Mozart's Prague symphony (wrapping up the Sinfonia's celebration of Mozart's birthday), this matinee programme provides a whistle-stop tour of Europe.

Harp soloist Carolyn Mills, the first harpist to win Boston University's prestigious Concerto-Aria Competition, has performed throughout America. She is currently Principal Harp for the NZSO.

The Southern Sinfonia concludes its two-concert celebration of Mozart's 250th birthday with a performance of Symphony No.38 Prague.
