Jambalaya Festival is three-days and four nights jam packed with music and dance workshops, shows, parties and a massive Carnival Street Parade!

Assembled in Rotorua are some of the best bands, teachers and performers from New Zealand and around the world to give you a taste of some of the most exciting music and dance styles from Brazil, Cuba, The Pacific and Aotearoa!

THE EVENTS:

There is a range of events to suit all tastes at Jambalaya!

WORKSHOPS - come and learn to dance or play music, from Salsa to Cook Island Drumming! These take place from 10:30am to 6pm each day.

FREE COMMUNITY EVENTS: The Convention Centre and City Focus Town Square have free daytime shows and workshops for kids and adults. You can just turn up on the day! Kids' workshops are free to all children aged 8-14.

3 HUGE PARTIES: Night-time events with top international and local bands and performance groups in two rooms on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Plus warm-up parties and after parties in Fuze Bar and the Grumpy Mole.

THEATRE SHOWS: Two world-class evening shows and the Sunday matinée feature unique dance and musical performances from our international guests.

DANCE WITH THE BAY OF PLENTY STARS: See the Ticketek website and the Jambalaya Programme Booklet for information on the "Dance with the Bay of Plenty Stars", Thurs night, 8.30pm in the Civic Theatre - this is a show especially for the BOP community and is not part of the Festival Pass Programme.

THE NZ SELECTIONS FOR THE WORLD SALSA CHAMPIONSHIPS:
Jambalaya is holding the NZ Selections for the World Salsa Championships held in Las Vegas Dec 06, it's time to bring NZ Salsa to the world stage! Come and check out dancers from all over NZ competing in the selections. We are also running the selections for teams to compete to represent NZ at the Sydney Salsa Congress, Jan 07.
